Philanthropy / DIY Hand Sanitizer

Power Mechanical is manufacturing hand sanitizer to fight Covid-19.

The Covid-19 pandemic has made it more challenging than ever for businesses and consumers to find cleaning & sanitizing products. Like many others, we were startled to find that hand sanitizer was not available for purchase through our standard supply chain.

Rather than throwing in the towel, our team put on their lab coats and went to work developing our own hand sanitizer, aptly named “BoilerMan.” We are sharing our recipe for anyone else who may be concerned about hand sanitizer for themselves or their team. Roll up your sleeves and let’s do this!

Running low on hand sanitizer? Make your own!

Ingredients

Making a spray type hand sanitizer requires some very basic ingredients

  • Alcohol: For its antimicrobial properties
  • Glycerin: For its moisturizing properties
  • Distilled Water: For thinning
  • Hydrogen Peroxide: Also for its antimicrobial properties
  • Essential Oil: Because a real Boiler Man smells good.
